Thailand, 28th September 2020, Continuing education to the highest is the dream of many students, as well as a student who graduated from nursing study program at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) named Aprelia Afidatul Hanafi, S.Kep., Ns. The figure who is familiarly called “April” had the opportunity to continue her master’s education in nursing at Khon Kaen University, Thailand with two other alumni Wahyu Retno Gumelar, S.Kep., Ns and Harnina Samantha Aisyah, S.Kep., Ns.
Her motivation to choose to continue her master’s studies abroad, especially at KKU Thailand was “UMLA held several international activities, namely guest lectures from abroad and student exchange to Thailand”. April is one of the nursing students who participated in the student exchange program at KKU Thailand for 1 month with 8 other nursing students. UMLA also facilitates English course activities to help improve students English speaking skills.
Taking a Masters degree in nursing abroad is not an easy thing. But, Alhamdulillah lecture activities going smoothly from the beginning of 2019 until this semester (semester 3) which is already in the thesis work stage. During the pandemic, they cannot return to Indonesia because Thailand has been on lockdown for 4 months. Furthermore, Thailand government regulations are also very strict, in the outside environment was so quite because the people prohibited from leaving the house. During pandemic, they online lectures from their own places and really not to campus at all. Alhamdulillah since this month there are no new local COVID cases, so that Thailand has started to enter the new normal stage, and has returned to normal classes in class.
There are many ways to go to Rome. Behind all that there must be enthusiasm to study especially in English Course program who has been on Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan so that the dream of continuing education abroad can be realized.
