Taipei, 19 November 2019. UMLA delegated a nursing lecturer “Nur Hidayati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.” to visit and explore the center of Chinese medicine at Taipei Medical University Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan. This activity was a series of hospital tour activities of the Advanced Nursing Professional Training Program organized by Taipei Medical University, College of Nursing.
The center of the Chinese medicine clinic is part of an outpatient department at TMU Hospital. Patients, who want to check up, register at the outpatient registration and then the doctor in charge of the Chinese medicine clinic will examine the patient and prescribe the right prescription according to the patient’s signs and symptoms. Surprisingly, this treatment is available at TMU pharmacies which are specialized in Chinese medicine and covered by health insurance as same as medical treatment.
Apart from visiting the center of Chinese medicine at TMU Hospital, the participants also visited pediatric neurology surgery ward and ICU Department. Pediatric neurology surgery ward is a pediatric caring service room that treats children with the brain tumor, cleft & craniofacial. Meanwhile, at the ICU, the participants were introduced to the TED ICU (TMUH Electric Dashboard ICU) – It is a Critical Information System where all patient-related data is on a computer that can be accessed through the eNIS application.
