Thailand, 01-31 March 2018. Undergraduate Nursing Students of STIKES MUHAMMADIYAH LAMONGAN had the opportunity to participate in student exchange program at KHON KAEN UNIVERSITY THAILAND for 1 month. There were nine students who participated in the exchange program. They were Aprelia A’fidaul H, S. Kep., Wahyu Retno G, S. Kep., Harnina Samanta A, S. Kep., Fathur Rozi, S. Kep., Mohammad Cholid, S. Kep., Firsta Tanti Herawati, S. Kep., Widati Azizia Fendy, S. Kep., Muhammad Setiawan, S. Kep., M. Nur Wahyudi, S. Kep., and accompanied by 2 nursing lecturers “Farida Juanita, S. Kep., Ns. M. Kep.” and “Suratmi, S. Kep., Ns. M. Kep.”
During program, students had the opportunity to practice at two hospitals, Srinagarind hospital and Khon Kaen hospital, and placed in the Accident and Emergency Department (AED) and pediatric ward. In addition, they experienced hospitals visit in Queen Sirikit Heart center Hospital and Kranuan Crown Prince Hospital.
Furthermore, students obtained different learning experiences, Trajectory of Illness which recapitulates the patient’s condition and the treatment obtained while the patient is in the hospital, and Compare between Theory and Finding which comparing the patient’s condition being studied with existing theories which include causes, signs and symptoms, examination results, and the therapy given. They also attended classes at the KKU Faculty of Nursing campus twice a week and prepared activity reports obtained for one week in a month, which are sent every weekend to their supervisors. They also conducted case presentations or mini exams at the end of the week to review as well as share activities and cases as well as knowledge gained during their practice.
