Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan (UMLA) officially opened the 2025 International Summer Course on Monday (July 21, 2025) at the Budi Utomo Hall at UMLA. This event was a special occasion because it was the first time the program was held completely offline since its inception.
Welcome remarks from the Chairperson of the Committee, Nur Hidayati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., reported that 18 international participants participated in this year's program. In her remarks, she stated that the International Summer Course was first held online in 2021, then continued as a hybrid program from 2022 to 2024.
"2025 marks an important milestone for UMLA because this is the first time this activity has been held offline. This demonstrates our commitment to providing a first-hand experience of Indonesian culture to international participants," she said.
The program is designed to provide both academic and cultural experiences, bringing together participants from various countries to learn from each other and share insights. In addition to classroom activities, participants will also be introduced to Lamongan's local culture, Islamic values, and various social activities. The International Summer Course is one of UMLA's flagship programs, supporting the campus's internationalization and expanding its global network.
The 2025 International Summer Course is expected to serve as a bridge to strengthen international collaboration and introduce Islamic values and local culture to the global community. UMLA remains committed to being a leading university open to international dynamics, in line with its vision as an innovative, professional, and Islamic university.
By implementing this program fully offline, UMLA demonstrates its readiness to host global-scale events and expand its contribution to the international education arena.
